Within the scope of the “Zero Waste Regulation” prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and published in the Official Gazette dated July 12, 2019, and numbered 3829, the necessary conditions were met and the equipment was placed in appropriate locations at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University to establish a zero waste management system and to make entries into the Integrated Environmental Information System (EÇBS).

Within the scope of the zero waste project, it is aimed to reduce waste generation, collect waste separately at the source, reduce the amount of waste in the storage area, eliminate environmental pollution, and use waste as high-quality raw material that will provide added value to the economy within the framework of circular economy principles.

In this context, the “Zero Waste Certificate” application request made by MAKÜ to the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization was evaluated by Deputy Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization Ali Zeren, EIA Branch Manager Yasemin Uysal Çöğmen, and Environmental Engineer Ayşe Harika Türkmen by conducting an on-site inspection, and the university's request was entered into the Integrated Environmental Information System (EÇBS).
