In terms of the implementation of the zero waste application, according to the relevant regulations, wastes will be collected separately and transported to “Atık Geçici Toplama” areas.

Until a new regulation is made or a new procedure is determined due to possible changes in the regulations, the application will be as follows:

  • 1- In order to collect the generated waste, collection units will be prepared in a 2-piece form. From these units, paper, metal, glass, and plastic waste that are easy to separate will be thrown into the organic waste bin; household waste will be thrown into the other bin.
  • 2- Examples of waste that can be thrown into the organic waste bin; Paper and cardboard boxes (excluding paper cups), newspapers, magazines, books, writing and drawing papers, metal (aluminum) beverage cans, metal (steel) cans, plastic boxes, plastic bottles, glass beverage and food bottles, glass jars, and glass bottles will definitely not contain liquid, if any, they will be emptied and thrown.
  • 3- All non-recyclable waste will be thrown into the non-recyclable waste bin; dirty papers, dirty beverage paper cups will be thrown into this bin; paper (paper cups), plastic, and metal elements that cannot be separated from organic waste will be thrown into this bin; waste that may have a smell will be thrown in an appropriate container.
  • 4- In the place where the dual collection units are placed, information signs/labels about the types of waste to be thrown into the bins will be hung at a size and level that can be read and will be above the relevant bins.
  • 5- Waste collection units will be placed in such a way that at least one unit (2-piece group) is placed in each corridor.
  • 6- In order to implement the zero waste system in a healthy and efficient manner and to create awareness, with the placement of the units, all trash bins in classrooms and offices will be removed; all waste will be ensured to be thrown separately into the units.
  • 7- Inside these bins, collection bags of the same color will be placed if possible to prevent mixing during collection. If bags of the same color cannot be found, they will be transported separately during collection.
  • 8- Separately collected waste will be transferred by hand or collection vehicles to the Waste Temporary Collection Area to be established in our campus and premises. In this area, it will be placed in the relevant containers according to the color or type of waste.
  • 9- The waste accumulated in the temporary waste collection area will be weighed and recorded in the - ….. book/form - by our authorized waste personnel during each delivery and will be handed over to the municipal officials with a report (waste receipt document). All waste delivery reports will be reported to the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the end of each month.
  • 10- In order to fully implement and establish the Zero Waste system in our university, zero waste training will be provided to staff or students when needed.
  • 11- All notifications and requests related to the zero waste application will be made to the “Administrative and Financial Affairs Department Zero Waste Unit”.
